Scope: 2,500 sf
Located in Houston’s Historic Heights District, “The Kitchen” is a neighborhood restaurant committed to fresh, quality local products with fish being delivered daily from a local boat. The project team worked with Executive Chef Lance Fegan and co-owner Lee Ellis to revive an abandoned gas station and turn it into a comfortable and cool local hang out that reflects this vision. The interior is cobbled together with reclaimed siding from old heights bungalows and local antique lighting. These elements contrast the new clean lines of the bar and ceiling details to give the space just enough slickness and roughness to fit in the ‘hood.
