New York City

Scope:  7,500 sf; 6 floor single family townhouse; $17m budget

Completed: 2012

Squeezed between two existing townhouses, this 20 foot wide private single family residence includes an expanded cellar, a rear yard, and roof garden just a few blocks from Central Park .  A brick and Indiana limestone facade replaced the existing front and rear.  The Indiana limestone is mirrored on the interior mixed with English walnut wood mill work and flooring.  A custom blackened steel winding grand stair, miscellaneous bronze, and marble complete the interior details.  The plan is reminiscent of a typical New York City ‘dumbbell’ tenement layout.  Project worked on while employed at Charles T. Young Architects.
